That is how company owner Bekim Haxhiu reported an interview for BNT.
Haxhiu dismissed claims about the age of the bus, specifying that his company had bought it three years ago and the year of production is 2007.
He says he learned about the accident at the Bulgarian-Macedonian border by a phone call from fellow countrymen who saw the crash bus and recognised the company. It has immediately returned by taxi to the scene, while currently staying in Bulgaria to make available to authorities.
Haxhiu says convinced that there were no illegal fuel pipes. According to him, controls on the Bulgarian border are very strict, both for drivers and passenger luggage, while stressing that there were pipes but with water. “Controls on the Bulgarian border are too strict for both luggage and drivers. The driver could not lift more than 60 miles [100 km] per hour because the bus had limitations”.
The company's owner said the bus had gone into technical control three weeks before the accident. Also, before each trip, all vehicles were transferred to a service center, he said. be.k/
