According to the first projections, 63% of citizens have voted for the law, with a margin of three percentage points of error.
Only the right-wing populist political party UDC, the country's main political party, called for a vote against the law.
The vote for the so-called COVID-19 Act, which, in addition to introducing health permits, also releases billions of Swiss francs in aid to employees and companies affected by the pandemic, was approved at a time when Switzerland, like many other countries in Europe, is facing a significant increase in new coronary cases.
Also at a time when a new strain of the omicron coronary virus appeared when the World Health Organization described it as disturbing and turning the world into readiness.
The Swiss government, unlike others in Europe, did not respond to new restrictions.
Swiss authorities warned on Tuesday of an increasing fifth <x0 wave” of the country's coronary infection, where vaccine rates are roughly similar to those of Austria and Germany's neighbours, with about two-thirds of the population vaccinated.
New infections rates have increased markedly in Switzerland in recent weeks.
