After a week of speculation, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani confirmed that Kosovo was invited to the upcoming summit for Democracy.
On Monday (15 November), Osmani confirmed that he would represent the country along with more than 100 others, following initial media reports that they were not on the guest list. She said it would enable them to demonstrate Kosovo's excellent example of freedom progress and democracy”, writes Euractiv.
The summit, organised by President Biden, will be held online between 9-10 December 2021. It will bring together world leaders, civil society members and private sector-interested parties to address threats to democracy on a global level, Klankosova reports.tv.
It was Kosovo's chief of state, Vjosa Osmani, who announced on Monday that during the past week, it has been announced that Kosovo will be part of this summit.
Osmani has added that she is honored to accept this invitation from Biden.
“I thank President Biden for inviting to the summit for Democracy organised by the White House, as well as the assessment of the partnership offered by Kosovo to work towards empowering democratic society that respects human rights, which enable each citizen to fulfill its own” potential.
