According to her, judges found there is still danger that the accused would prevent the progress of the DHSK process through intervention in victims and witnesses.
The law envisions judges reevaluating every two months if there are still reasons for keeping the accused in custody. These may be the danger of escape, the risk of obstructing criminal proceedings, or the danger of committing the same criminal act or another criminal act”, she has said.
At the media conference held Thursday, Greep has provided up-to-date information on recent developments regarding judicial procedures and activities in this court.
Regarding the case against Salih Mustafa, she has said that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week gave testimony to the eighth witness and the ninth witness, who testified with protective measures, including the use of the nickname as well as the change of face and voice.
On the contrary, he said both were asked questions by the Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS), defence, the protection of victims and judges.
He also said that on Tuesday, at the request of the judges, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office handed over the new order of witness testimony for January and February and decided not to call one of the witnesses it originally envisioned.
This after previous witnesses have already given the same testimony and said the upcoming hearing on this issue will be held on December 13th 2021, at 09:30, reports “Justice Vow”.
As for the case against Hysni Gucatit and Nasim Haradinaj, the court II said that within November 26th it is intended to make a decision regarding the demands of defence teams to drop the charges, at “the Order for the Labour Plan and the appointment of deadlines for the Future Steps of the 911 process, November 9, 2021.
If the judges reject the defence teams' request to drop charges against the accused, then on December 2nd and 3rd the preparation conference for defence will be held”, Greep has said.
All in the end, she has said that the Kosovo Specialised Chambers Communications and Awareness programme team met with different groups from the general public, youth and civil society in Llaplasella, in the area of Pristina and Gjilan.
“During these information and awareness activities, the team provided information on the recent mandate and developments of the Court's processes and answered questions and concerns raised by participants”, Greep said.
Otherwise, Kosovo Specialised Chambers in The Hague every Thursday at 14:30, via online platform “Zoom” hold weekly information offering updated information on recent developments regarding judicial procedures and activities in this court.
