“Putin promises Vuciqi reasonable price for gas

“I think we'll agree to the natural gas price”. So Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said after a meeting that lasted over three hours with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

We will find solutions which will be acceptable to our Serbian friends”, Putin said.

Vucic stressed that reports between Serbia and Russia are at the highest level because states are strategic partners, and that co-operation is continuing in all areas. These include military-technical co-operation, where Putin said that regular security forces undoubtedly serve both states.

Vucic travelled to Russia for official visit and, as warned, received all media attention.

“Every meeting with Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin has exceptional significance for our state”, the Serbian president wrote on the Social Instagram network.

Vucic had earlier claimed to ask President Putin for a reasonable price of gas, which in Serbia currently pays 270 dollars per 1,000 cubic metres. Serbia depends on Russian gas. Agreement with Russian distributor “Gazprom” will expire at the end of 2021, while negotiating for a new deal. Vucic earlier has indicated that there is Russia seeking a price of up to three times higher than the current.

The meeting confirmed that relations between the two countries are good, as Putin indicated that next year will come for an official visit to Belgrade.
