Marialia Mendeca, one of Brazil's most popular singers, has died at the age of 26, from the plane crash she was flying on, officials said.
Four other people, including her uncle, her producer and two crew members, also died in the accident that took place in a rural area of the southeastern Brazilian region, Minas Gerais.
Brazilian authorities have launched investigations to detect the cause of the plane crash, the BBC writes.
The winner of Latin Grammy in 2019, Mendoza became famous by focusing on the experiences of women with failed relationships.
One of the biggest names of Brazilian music known as “sertanejo”, Mendcha began her teenage career and became a national star in 2016 with a hit. It was also known as the “The queen of suffering”.
Mendica, who left a two-year-old boy, was scheduled to perform at a concert Friday evening in a Carataga town, just 12 kilometers from the crash site.
Hours before the accident, she published images of her being on the plane.
