The main centre for anti-coronvirus vaccine in Pristina, Hall “1 October”, on Thursday (November 18th), was empty in the morning hours.

The citizens' interest in vaccinating continues to be low.

Out of 20 thousand doses of vaccines administered during a day in September, an average of 2,100 doses of the vaccine are administered in Kosovo in the last 10 days.

In the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry, 1,760 doses of vaccine have been given.

Kosovo has launched the vaccine campaign at the end of March, and by November 18th, more than 753 thousand citizens or over 41 percent of the general population have received two doses of the vaccine.

The vaccine in Kosovo now takes place without the term and is allowed for all ages over 12.

The vaccines given in Kosovo are: Pfizer. B ONTech and AstraZeneca both approved by the World Health Organization and the European Trade Agency.

The Health Ministry has announced to Radio Free Europe that through door-to-door visits, this ministry is aiming to increase the number of vaccinated. Also, this ministry says they are making preparations for vaculation through mobile teams, even at the “Adem Jashari” International Airport, at religious institutions and schools.

The Ministry of Health calls on those who haven't done it, because we already have the presence of the Delta Plus variant in Kosovo, and non-excilation would be a big lost chance at the expense of individual and collective health of the” population, says a ministry response to Radio Free Europe.

The number of new coronary cases in Kosovo remains low, despite the rate of COVID-19 infection in the region and wider is high.

In the last 10 days in Kosovo, 102 new cases and two cases of dead have been recorded.

In turn, only November 17th, Albania scored 616 new cases and 10 deaths, northern Macedonia 476 new cases and 13 deaths, Serbia 3,600 cases and 56 deaths, Montenegro 403 cases and 10 deaths.

Because of high infection in the region, health professionals in Kosovo have said the epidemiology situation is unstable. This also contributes to the fact that the most contagious Delta Delta is dominant in Kosovo.

Also, according to the Health Ministry, “exists the risk of rapidly spreading the new Delta Plus”. On November 10th, health authorities have identified 12 cases with the Delta Plus version of the coronary, out of 59 samples.

This version has been identified by British scientists in September, and because it is not a variant that is of interest or concern yet, it has not been officially appointed according to a letter of the Greek alphabet, as in other distressing variants.

According to Hospital Service data at the COVIID-19 clinics at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo and general hospitals, 41 patients -- 13 patients with COVID-19 and 28 other post-owned patients -- are in hospital treatment.

Only 4 patients with COVID-19 are being treated at the Infectious Clinic on November 18th.

Kosovo University Clinical Clinic Director Arben Visaj told Radio Free Europe that the current situation is calm, but the clinic has been mobilised as if they had many patients.

We're adapting to hospital spaces that will eventually be filled with patients. I hope this scenario does not happen, but we must prepare that we cannot be immune to the epidemiological situation happening in the region and Europe”, Vaj said.

Starting with the epidemiological situation in the region and Europe, Visaj called on Kosovo citizens to be vaccinated.

“We are part of the region and Europe, and however, the epidemiological situations that occur in the region will come to our country as well. Until today, war against COVID-19, the most efficient weapon in our power is the vaccine”, he stressed.

Europe has seen 50 percent increase in infections since October, despite high availability of vaccines COVID-19.

In some European countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic, and other countries, record figures of the infected were reported this week.

Germany has broken its record Thursday, November 18th, as authorities in this state have recorded 65,371 new cases of coronary infection during 24 hours. Germany's Vaccina Committee has recommended on Thursday the strengthening dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine for all persons over the age of 18.

Austria on November 14th has placed in isolation millions who have not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to the World Health Organization, two main reasons why Europe, but also Central Asia, is in such a difficult situation is insufficient coverage of vaccines and relaxed health and social restrictions.

Inoculation rates have declined in Europe in recent months, and they vary greatly from country to country. For example, by October in Spain, almost 80 percent of the population had been vaccinated, in Germany 66 percent, and in Russia only 32 percent.
