The 100-euro extensions from the Kosovo government for pensioners in the country are seen as being made for political points.
With that decision in place, the beneficiaries of pension schemes in November will benefit from 100 euros on the current regular pension and extension.
Some of the pensioners in Pristina are seeing it as a fraud and averse to sharing that amount.
Tahir Ashir told Economy Online that this split is about vote buying.
These are nothing, they've been playing with us like kids when they buy a chocolate or something, they want to buy their votes this month. They better keep us going 10 or 15 for the next month. That's funny I know what they told me the most, he said.
Arsim Canolli said pensioners had to be divided not just a month but always split, calling it a despised and deceived category like this.
“Pensionists have had to share with you not for a month but always given away because they're very neglected. They're the most despised category ever since the war. What to do with 180 euros is they have for the whole church they said, but that's a symbolic sum just as much as by measuring”, he said.
There are also those who will not receive this amount of 100 euros as a sign of revolt.
Xhemajl Duraku said he doesn't get that money because it's for “charity” and not pensioners.
