PDK seeks ombudsman's resignation

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) is calling for the resignation of the ombudsman, Naim Qeyaj, following the refusal he has filed with former head of the Central Election Commission (KQZ) Valdete Daka counters the President's decision to suspend her mandate as the CEC leader. After failing to gather the headship of [...]

Following the failure of the Assembly Headship meeting at a media conference chief of the PDK Parliamentary Group, Abelard Tahiri, called the ombudsman's decision humiliating, with which he had rejected the Daka complaint with the argument that the same has offered no testimony against the President's decision.

“is not the ombudsman who should assess the constitutionality of this act. The ombudsman is the one who defends human rights in the Republic of Kosovo, and in this case, he would have to send the case to the Constitutional Court. From today, only the people's attorneys can't say, we can tell Vjosa Osmani's Avokas, President. I don't think he deserves to stay in that position, his assessments are unacceptable. The estimates that the decision has been in accordance with the Constitution are unacceptable, and I think that after this shameful act, he would no longer have to stay in that office. He would also do himself a favor, as well as a position that resigns to me”, he said.

Tahiri said such a violation has been recorded in the Progress Report. While warning that he would not halt efforts to ensure the necessary number of signatures that concerning this decision by the ombudsman to address the Constitutional Court, why he had failed to collect once.

I've had continuous efforts and we haven't reached agreement. I will not stop until the last days, because here we are clearly dealing with constitutional violations. I'm not just saying as opposition, that's what the Progress Report has said, so until the last few days I'm going to deal with this matter”, he added.
