European Union spokesman Peter Stano has confirmed that next week, on 16 November respectively, the new round of meetings of Kosovo and Serbia's chief negotiators is expected to be held to discuss implementing agreements reached so far, open issues and the way forward in dialogue.
EU officials have not commented on Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq's statement on the formation of the majority Serbian Communist Association.
Vuciq said on Wednesday before reporters that Kosovo will form association as it is negotiated in Brussels, or “Thank you, you have your job, in our work, maybe we meet a day of”.
However, officials have dismissed claims that dialogue has been blocked due to disagreements for implementation of the Association Agreement.
The Kosovo government and the president of this state, Vjosa Osmani, have said Kosovo will not implement the agreement, as it is contrary to the Kosovo Constitution.
“As a general rule, we don't comment on different proposals and comments. Instead of such statements, we are focused on achieving results and facing issues working hard. Dialogue is not blocked and continues with the daily work of the Special Representative for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, not only with the two sides, but wider in the region and in the international arena“, EU spokesman Peter Stano told Radio Free Europe.
Kosovo and Serbia, under the EU's mediation, have reached the agreement on establishing the Association of Serb majority municipalities in 2013.
Two years later, the two countries have reached an additional agreement on its establishment, but the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has found that the principles for it are not in line with the Constitution of Kosovo, even though it has said they could be harmonised with a legal act of the Government of Kosovo.
