NATO Special Forces and partners have launched a major military exercise in Romania called “Cross Strike 21”.
About 1,000 soldiers participate in the exercise, aimed at strengthening joint action in the scenario of a hybrid war.
According to the Balkan Security Network portal, the exercise organiser, Romania, is participating with more than 800 soldiers and about 100 vehicles, ships and planes.
Another 150 special forces came from the United States, Greece, Bulgaria, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Moldova and Georgia. The exercise is being held in seven countries, one of which is at sea and most of the activities are in Carpathies and central Romania.
This exercise continues through international exercises in Romania with special forces participating. In the previous months it was held in that country and region through exercises within the US exercise European Supervisor 21H and NATO training station, said the report.
Modern weapons and equipment of special units, jeeps “Hammer”, transport helicopters and speed patrol ships, as well as old generation rifles.
All participants wore special units' characteristic equipment, specially designed uniforms, new helmets, armor plates, glasses, gloves and optics, electronics and lasers.
After the successful completion of the exercise, the forces taking part in the exercise will receive the certificate that they are ready to combat a special operation at sea, as well as that command structures are able to plan and conduct a special NATO operation.
