Today is November 17th, considered the KLA's founding date. Latifi, who has been a former soldier, has said there have been many proposals for the KLA name initially, but was later decided on that name.
The “first had many different proposals for the KLA's name. Initially there was a proposal for the name of the guerrilla unit “Recep Mala”. Name this of importance but was later set for a much more impressive name that includes the entire national being inside it”, he says.
He also mentions those who are said to have named him.
There is also debate about who named him. Of the many conversations I've heard was Ali Ahmeti who named him. Many say it was Xavit Haliti who said that name. There are others who mention other names”, he added.
