Movement for the Union Chairman Valon Murati has reacted after Prime Minister Albin Kurti said he would vote to join Albania if democratic and peaceful referendums were organised.
Murati via post in “Facebook” said Kurti should show how the union is made, not for his actions in case a possible referendum takes place.
“Prime Minister Kurti for the same time since becoming prime minister declares that in the event of a referendum he would vote for union with Albania. Indeed, the prime minister would have to tell us what steps he will take to enable the organisation of such a” referendum, he has written.
Furthermore, Murati has reminded the prime minister that joining another state is prohibited with the Constitution.
“I am reminding the prime minister that the union is prohibited with the Constitution of Kosovo; that amending the constitution is conditional on the vote of 2/3 minority deputies -- namely, at least four deputies of the Serbian List would have to vote for change; and that the referendum on amending the constitution is not allowed by this constitution”, he wrote further.

Prime Minister Kurti must show how the union takes place, not how it would vote in a possible referendum!
Prime Minister Kurti for the same time since becoming prime minister declares that in the event of a referendum, he would vote for union with Albania. Indeed, the prime minister would have to show us what steps he will take to enable the organisation of such a referendum. I am reminding the prime minister that the union is prohibited with the Constitution of Kosovo; that amending the constitution is conditional on the vote of 2/3 minority deputies -- namely, some four Serbian List deputies would have to vote for change; as well as that referendum on amending the constitution is not allowed by this constitution. The Union is not a question of will, but of stops and obstacles, as well as of regional and international context. Prime Minister Kurti must show you how he will eliminate these barriers and stops, not hide behind a hypothetical vote, which he personally does not doubt in his determined outcome in favour of the union.
