In these protests, there are banners with inscriptions like “who gave you the discrimination school”, “we don't tolerate human discrimination”, and hospital technical workers' uniforms have been left in the hospitals' fences.
In sign of riots, they protested the non-involved category in the 60-euro simulation by the Government of Kosovo.
Independent Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi said that the only request now and how many months remaining remains the additional payment, as is decided for doctors and nurses.
“From today we are starting an escalation of protests and strikes. The main goal of this protest is where this protest has expanded to the whole level of Kosovo. I announce to you that in all hospitals at the Family Medicine Center and the ambulance today at 11: 00 p.m., technical and physical security workers will not perform their service for a reason, as the Government of Kosovo has made a major discrimination for additional contributions to nurses for 60 euros. We think they deserve even more. However, all the irony is that we in the same object, in the same building we work together and we are probably far more endangered than doctors and nurses”, he stressed.
For this, he stressed that for so many months, they have requested meetings with the minister of health and with the minister of finance and prime minister, but that this has not happened.
This is the last protest we'll deal with. Because after this protest, if there isn't any positive movement, we'll be unwittingly forced to go on strike. And of course the strike will cost us both employees, but especially for MS, but also for patients”, he added.
Sabri Ejupi, representative of the QKUK security sector, also calls it discriminating against the security sector in the stimulating wage.
We've been discriminated against by security workers and so we have no comment. We've got trouble, the patient comes to the room, he's a doctor, he's a nurse, he's going to come through the insurance worker first. Security is discriminated against to the extent that there is no comment, why ignore us. We want to know why, and we're human, and we've had cases of infection we've taken home. At times, his family died”, he said.
Zeynep Vranovci, who works at Gjilan Hospital, said the state is becoming human discrimination.
We do our most work at the hospital. I've had COVIED, 21 days I've been in the hospital, 600 euros gone, buying antibiotics, fraxiparines and other drugs. I took COVIED to the hospital cleaning up patients with COVID. And we do not enjoy today any justice, why? We're maintenance workers. Without me getting in with the room and the floor and the bed where the patient is staying with COVID, the doctor cannot come in and the nurse with the therapy”, the angry doctor said.
While protesting the heads of union health workers associations, Health Ministry Secretary Naim Bardiqi has met the protesters.
Later, the chairman of the Independent Trade Union of Kosovo stressed that at this meeting those requirements will be addressed. He has invited workers to return to work until a decision is made by institutions.
In August of this year, the Government of Kosovo had decided to allocate additional payments of 10 per cent to health workers. /xp
