The areas of the Faculty of Physical and Sports Education today have been used for the launch of mobile teams for people infected with COVID, but also for those with special needs, the home of the elderly and in detention centres.
Mobile teams are organised by each municipality in the respective city, and are on hand to the Kosovo Police.
Valentina Demolli-Coliqi, coach of the Municipal Election Commission in Pristina, says there are 12 mobile teams which are designated for the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK), for the home of the elderly, as well as for the detention centre in Hyvali.
“We are currently launching mobile teams to go and offer citizens the opportunity, whether in institutions or at home, who, in the unlikely manner of voting in their countries, are given the corresponding voting through mobile teams. Currently, we organise mobile teams and voting only for the Pristina municipality because other municipalities are organised by relevant municipal commissions. Currently in the municipality of Pristina, we have 12 mobile teams, which are designated for the University Clinical Centre (QKUK), for the home of the elderly and for the detention centre in Hyvali, as well as other teams are scattered on the ground or for other citizens who are unable to come out to vote in their respective positions”, Demoll said.
Demolli says mobile teams are scheduled to start working by 09 o'clock in the morning and on the basis of the list he has set with voters they would have to finish all voters one by one.
The number of citizens who are infected with COVID and who have sought to vote in their homes compared to other elections is probably much lower, possibly not a result of the general situation, because even in the overall situation, we have improved the state of the number infected with COVID and in these elections is fortunately low. Here we are talking about number 6, respectively, 9 voters where 3 of them are at the conclusion of COVID, while other teams have the number of 20, voters for certain teams on the ground. According to the Doracak, over local elections mobile teams are scheduled to start working by 09 o'clock in the morning, and on the basis of the list he has set with voters they would have to finish all voters one by one. Usually according to practice, mobile teams end up working a little earlier compared to those who work at polling stations due to the not too high a number of voters who have previously applied to vote at home or those who vote in institutions”, Demolli has said.
Furthermore, it says a mobile team is made up of four members and that team continues in other institutions.
“Ficion teams, unlike those working at the polls, are organised and have a slightly different route, where a mobile team consists of four members including one leader and other members, these are crews that will move and go either to institutions or to citizens and offer you the possibility of voting there. This team is transported through a vehicle designated by the municipal electoral commission, and at all times this team is under Kosovo Police escort. Also within the vehicle it transports, we have monitors”, Demollley said.
Mobile teams were also practiced in the first round of the October 17th election, but those of February 14th.
