At the joint meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi and Minister Iron Murati, the prime minister thanked them for the support the IMF has given to the Republic of Kosovo to date.

“Prime Minister Kurti said that although the pandemic has brought considerable strain as we approach the second year of pandemic, the extraordinary performance of our economy with an average growth of 10.4% in the first part of 2021, makes us optimistic that this will be the growth trajector of the country for the next few years. This performance has also affected budget revenues, which have enabled us to implement the points of the governing programme earlier than we planned, which can be seen with the 2022 budget, which was approved at the latest meeting of the Government”, reportedly in the news release made by the Prime Minister's Office.

In addition, the report said that “Di Bella commended Kosovo's Government for success in vaccinating the population, making the country the leader in the region, despite having a late start in the process. He also spoke about good economic and budgetary performance, which was beyond initial projections. In this regard it said, that Kosovo represented a unique case in the world, where the diaspora had such a high return home, following the release of measures”.

The “meeting also discussed successful measures to formalise the government's undertaken economy, resulting in more budget revenues. Also discussed was inflation, which is the phenomenon shown in recent months on a global scale and measures that our government and various governments around the world are undertaking to help citizens”.
