The former president, Hashim Thaci, had promoted seven Kosovo Security Force officers, including the Yashari Union, which was promoted to Major General's rank.
Otherwise, Bashkim Jashar is the son of Rifat Jashar and grandson of Adem Jashar, commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK). He had so far served as Brigadier General and Inspector General of the Kosovo Security Force.
And today President Vjosa Osmani has appointed the Jashari Union as commander of the Kosovo Security Force.
The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, simultaneously supreme commander of the Kosovo Security Forces, has appointed Major General Union Yasar the new commander of the Kosovo Security Force, in line with constitutional competencies. The appointment is made as envisioned in the Law for the KSF, following the defence minister's proposal and the recommendation of the prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo”, the report said.
The presidency has also been announced for the presentation of the resignation by Lieutenant General Nundman Rama.
