In addition to lower taxes, the cheaper and qualified workforce, companies are also interested in rule of law and law in the investment country, but also in providing profitable investments from the country.

According to the report, foreign direct investments in Kosovo, in 2020, compared to 2019, have marked the highest growth in the sector “financial and security targets”, with an estimated 13.9m euros, amounting to 84m euros.
The data also shows that in the economic activity of construction from a negative value we had in 2019 (17.1) a 10.8m-euro increase in 2020, as well as in the Xehetaria and stone sector, from a negative value (6.9m euros) has been invested in 28.8m euros, and this economic activity has marked positive value for the first time in the last five years.
Seen by investment value, the sector, which has scored the highest value of investment, is the activity of real estate 201.1m euros, while compared to the previous year, this sector has a decline of 22.7m euros.

In financial activities and insurance, the construction and xeteriatry, and the qualms, the IHD growth, compared to 2019, were also noted in the energy supply sector, gas, steam and air conditioning, agriculture, forestry and fisherman, water supply, sewering, waste management, and professional and technical activities.
Within the FDI, according to economic sectors, as seen in the No. 2, in 2020 compared to 2019, the decline has been noted in the sector of real estate, production, transport and storage, retail and capital trading, motor vehicle repair, motorcycles, etc.
U.S. Foreign Direct Investments
State-based Foreign Direct Investment (IHD) during 2015-2020 has a stable trend of raising the value of FDI. The total value of FDI for 2020 was 341.7m euros, which means there has been an increase of 34.2%, compared to 2019.

Among the IHD's highest investment countries, for 2020, is Germany, with investments of 67.5m euros, even though, compared to 2019, there is a decline of 3.8%. Switzerland for investments ranks second, with 62.4m euros, compared to 2019, as well as growth for 0.8%, then ranks Albania with 39.4m euros, the US with 30.4m euros, Austria with 27.6m euros, etc.
