Kosovo was not invited to the Democracy Summit, American professor: Guilty is Kurt

American Professor Alon Ben-Mayr has spoken about his failure to invite Prime Minister Albin Kurti's Democracy Summit on the part of President Joe Biden, he has indicated that the main blame for why Kosovo was listed with Serbia and Bosnia is Kurti, who has not set dialogue with Serbia as a priority. Ben-Mayer said [...]

Ben-Meir has said the main blame for not inviting Kosovo to the Democracy Summit is Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

He says that according to his research he has concluded that this bad news for Kosovo comes as a consequence of Kurti's actions, which has not set dialogue with Serbia as a priority but has listed it as the fourth.

But based on my research on what Kosovo looks like is excluded because Prime Minister Albin Kurti has not yet established dialogue with Serbia (so commitment to the reconciliation/normalisation process) as a top priority, which the Biden administration sees necessary to resolve the conflict with Serbia”, Ben-Meir has said, submits GASeta Metro.

When you consider the fact that very little has been discovered about the summit for Democracy, it is hard to say with absolute certainty why Kosovo, Serbia and Bosnia were not invited. But based on my research on what Kosovo looks like is excluded because Prime Minister Albin Kurti has not yet established dialogue with Serbia (so commitment to the reconciliation/normalisation process) as a top priority, which the Biden administration sees necessary to resolve the conflict with Serbia. Although Kurti is focused on the topics of this summit, such as fighting corruption, fighting authoritarianism and advancing human rights, the fact that Kurti places the conflict with Serbia as the fourth in his agenda has not been well received in Washington.”, wrote Alon Ben-Meir.
