Bundestag MP Renata Alt has also talked about visa liberalisation work for Kosovars.
Alt has said it is not logical that Kosovars do not have the right to move visa-free to Schengen based on what has been confirmed several times that Kosovo has met the conditions for visa liberalisation.
“The Kosovoers are the only citizens of the Western Balkans that still need a visa to enter the Schengen area. This does not seem logical in light of the fact that the Commission has confirmed several times since July 2018 that Kosovo meets all conditions for visa liberalisation”, Alt reported Express.
It further says that the fact that the EU has promised liberalisation and rejection by the Council increases disappointment with Kosovars and distrust of Europe.
The fact that this has been promised for so long and the Council refuses to give the green light increases frustration on Kosovo's side and distrust of the EU. It also does not strengthen the EU's credibility in the region”, Alt has said.
