From December last year until November 16th 2021, the Government and the Operator of the System, Transition and the Kosovo Electricity Market, COSTT has paid for the flow spent in northern Kosovo 27.7m euros.
In this regard, the Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has reacted, under which it presents serious human rights violations as well as discrimination on ethnic grounds.
KMDLNj estimates that the Kosovo government should do positive discrimination only by relying on the economic situation of citizens, and by no means on ethnic grounds. While he has invited MPs who raised against such discrimination.
This, according to KMDLNey, presents serious human rights violations as well as naked discrimination on ethnic grounds. In a country where democratic and civic values are promoted before the law and the policy of non-discrimination, to happen what is happening with bills is highly immoral, unacceptable, and punishable. It is true that the current government of Kosovo, this discrimination phenomenon, has inherited it from the preliminary governments, but it cannot and should not use it as a rationale for failing to act against this apartheid of civil and social rights that made it to its citizens. It is shameless, cynical and grossly immoral that the declaration of a high state official that these bills are paying the sovereignty for that part of Kosovo ... So far ago that the very beneficiaries of this discrimination are the biggest deniers of this sovereignty, serving an extremely hostile state towards the state of Kosovo. Is it fair and moral to reward the deniers of Kosovo's sovereignty by stealing money from contributors (with suffering, blood and life) to builders and advocates of Kosovo sovereignty? No state and no normal country would allow that, and let alone do that”, it says in response.
According to KMDLNj, the Kosovo government should only make positive discrimination by relying on the economic situation of citizens who would be released from payments regardless of national affiliation, age, gender, religious and political beliefs.
“Human rights are universal rights and are not divided based on ethnic affiliations. The Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo does not allow any discrimination on ethnic grounds. KMDLNj calls on Kosovo's Parliament deputies to stand up against this discrimination on ethnic grounds because they have called for the vote, and on behalf of that they have won the mandate. Kosovo's deputies, except that they represent the interests of all Kosovo citizens, are obliged to protect the rights of Kosovo citizens, indiscriminately and without any discrimination. Are they doing this? Certainly not at the proper size of”, it is said in response.
The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has also reacted to the call of Economy Minister Artane Rizvanolli to save electricity and use other options for heating.
In this case, KMDLNj has said that it supports Minister Rizvanolli's request for electricity savings only if the same measures are used in four northern municipalities.
It is not right that in the name of electricity savings, the vast majority of Kosovo citizens rub hands or warm up according to the Indian method, while in the name of sovereignty, sovereignty deniers spend electricity, without any restrictions, and we pay for them”, it is said in response.
