The United Nations agency says it resulted in an assessment of food safety that found that another 3 million face famine in Afghanistan.
In an interview for “BBC” Executive Director of the World Food Programme David Beasley said the situation in Afghanistan is as bad as it can hardly be imagined.
According to cold winter experts, millions of people, including children, will likely face the hunger crisis.
Families facing food insecurity are being forced to marry children early, removing them from school, or feeding them locusts, leaves, and cactus.
Afghanistan is facing the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, where media reports show the serious situation there.
Many families are forced to sell their children in desperate efforts to survive.
The increase in hunger rates has also been observed in Ethiopia, Haiti, Somalia, Angola, Ken and Burundi.
