The Health Ministry has approved the recommendation of the Committee for Immitation Against COVID-19 for vaccinating children aged 12-15 (no health indicators) with Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, at the request and will of parent or legal guardian.
The vaccine of this age group can be done in all vaccine centers against COVID-19 in Kosovo, only in the presence of the parent or legal guardian.
For vaccinating children of this age group, their parents or legal caretakers do not need to predetermine the term, but only to appear at the vaccine centre in the respective municipality.
This decision is based on EMA recommendations, FDA, CDC, and on the practices of many countries which so far have achieved significant levels of vaccination of children of this age with anti-imcination COVID-19.
Experiences from countries that have initiated the application of 12- to 15-year-old group vaccines speak of the security and high efficiency of this vaccine even in children, protecting them from all variants of SARS-COV-2, while possible side effects are negligible in relation to the benefits of the vaccine.
The Health Ministry recalls that so far it has been allowed to vaccinate the 12-15-year-old group with health indicators and all citizens over 16.
The ministry encourages parents to vaccinate their children against COVIDD-19, as the safest way to prevent COVID-19 infection among children.
