Kadri Weselini's defence has also made a request for their client's release from the detention centre in The Hague to follow up on the move of house arrest in Mitrovica until it has shown that unequivocal guarantees have been given for such a thing.
As noted in the letter of two lawyers, Ben Emerson and Andrew Strong, sent to Kosovo Police Director Samedin Mehmeti, a clear guarantee, reportedly reducing the only risk identified by the Pre-emptive Procedure Judge.
In the previous decision, as stated in the defence document, the Judge of the Fable Procedure had raised concerns that Kadri Veselin's possible unmonitored talks with family and visitors that could hinder further progress in specialised chamber procedures. Also in the previous decision, as the defence document points out, there was the danger of committing another crime.
The defence has confirmed that they have also received a letter from the head of the Kosovo Police, in which it says that Kosovo's “Police are more than capable and willing to implement any conditions or orders imposed by the Pre-Procedure Court for Early Release or any other case”.
As it says in the defence document, Kosovo Police are better equipped to follow the court's orders than the unit at the Pre-burging Centre.
Defence aside says the detailed engagement taken by Kosovo Police clearly changes the circumstances and directly reduces the risk that the Pre-emptive Procedure Judge had mentioned in the preliminary decision on the issue of Housekeeping.
Finally, the defense requires Judge of Pre-Procedure to free Kadri Veselin from custody.
