A telephone conversation was held today between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Escobar, who is at the same time sent by the United States for the Western Balkans.

“In conclusion of the conversation, stressing that he expects to visit Kosovo soon, Mr. Eskobar expressed the best wishes for Kosovo's prime minister and people. The Prime Minister thanked Mr. Eskobar for his role and engagement in Kosovo and the region by wishing him success in his work and offering full co-operation to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo”, the ZKM communiqué said.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Gabriel Escobar has voiced his support for progress in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

“Escobar stressed United States support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo and the commitment of the US to Kosovo and the region becoming members of the European Union. In terms of dialogue in Brussels, he expressed his support and dedication to making progress in this regard”, the announcement issued by Kurti's office said.

Prime Minister Kurti has reportedly thanked Escobar for his continued US support of Kosovo.

Kosovo executive “Kreu has secured Escobar for “Kosovo's dedication to principled dialogue, where mutual recognition is at the centre. The prime minister also stressed the importance of confronting the past in Serbia, but also in the region, as well as balance and symmetry in dealing with minorities”, the report said.
