On November 23rd, the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora refused for the last time the chief of the so-called Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Petar Petkovic, to visit Kosovo.
Meanwhile, Peter Stano, spokesperson for European diplomacy chief Josep Borrell, said today that Petkov's visit was long warned and procedures were in line with the agreement reached within the dialogue.
He said the EU “invites Kosovo to reconsider such a decision and allow the visit”.
“According to our information, Petkov's visit was reported in line with the existing agreement (in terms of dialogue) and he had to be allowed visit”, Stano stressed.
He said the EU “called and expects all previous agreements, including the agreement on official visits, to be respected”.
“These bilateral visits on both sides are an important contribution and part of normalisation of relations and all visits in line with the agreement should be held in such a way as to promote dialogue and normalisation of relations”, he said.
On the other hand, the Fazliu Stand by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore (MPJD) has told the REL that the MPJD is ready to reconsider its positions and eventually approve future visits.
“... If Mr. Petkovic shows willingness to refrain from stimulating and provocative language in relation to the citizens and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo”, Fazliu said.
