Commander Skopje in the role of screenwriter: I expect support for the KLA movie

“Film starts on the present day where a girl of a martyr, we're talking about a man who exists, meets me at the airport and we go to the cemetery of the martyrs, visit her father's grave. She's asking me to tell me why I'm not my dad. And I started to tell him why and tell him that I'm willing to tell you why he lived and fought. And here begins the explanation of the '90s, '80s, '70s, as well as short screen footage to explain what happened back then and it comes to mobilizing the war. It begins completely through that question, explains the Kosovo war”, the Skopje commander tells of the KLA war film scenario, which took five years to write.

On the most important day for the Albanian people, former member of the unit “Tigers of Montenegro” asks his countrymen for help to realise the first film for the Kosovo Liberation Army.

The point of why I'm making it public today is that I think it's the shooting date to give it as news. Yes, I have written the complete script of a movie about the war of the KLA, which through my eye and my experiences and the entity and the region and most of the KLA will reflect why the war started, how it developed and how it ended. That's the main goal. And I think better than the people who were at war, no one else could. I've made this decision, because I think the reason we live is to show what happened”, he says.

Ferid Berisha says the war in Kosovo will be reflected for more than two hours by Albanian, Serbian, Croatian, American actors. The movie about the KLA war, aims at Hollywood size, and this requires investment. Despite difficulties, he hopes that such a thing will be achieved.

“The company we have formed wants to start seeking help, mainly from people in general, Albanians. But even the Sponsorization Law that has been done for two years, we've researched and figured out it's in favour and it's good for the financing of film projects. We've started talking to some companies, we think the biggest push will be from the population and the Law for Sponsorization. If we need greater support later on, we will also seek help from the state”, he is now expressed.

The will it has to achieve this film also moves him to believe that he will achieve finalisation for the next two years. It is insistent that the story be told in Albanian, as is the script.

At least one massacre where my unit was present later, they're going to present it, not on purpose, because we know what happened, the internationals know, for the sake of reality that happened. For five years, Commander Skopje wrote what he remembered and what he experienced during the '98 ' s and 99, but many of the events had difficulty remembering him completely.

I've started writing what I remember, all the time. And I've had lots of scenes in writing that I haven't remembered, but I just wrote the title. Later, I called the soldiers and I sat down and I told you what this scene was like once more, because I wanted to come out original, and my soldiers remembered a lot of stuff”, so Berisha confessed, while adding that from time to time he had to investigate the dates of many events.

The movie scene is over, but foreign experts will also review it.

Ferid Berisha shows that contacts have started in Germany, America and many other countries to help finance this film.

“Film on the basis of my scenarios and experiences will be shot in Kosovo primarily. Part of Albania, because it's part of the scenario I've been to. A part in Germany, Holland, a part of Croatia. These are the right places, maybe in the script, and if we reach a little bit of a deal in America it's going to be shot”, Berisha shows.

Commander Skopje says this film is of the Albanian nation and is done for all victims, the right of Kosovo and the KLA.

“No one has made a movie for The NLA and I aim to be the first film as a booster to create other movies, which we have mindless stories to make films too. For many heroes, for many great personalities. I hope to be that first promotional item to create”, Berisha concludes.

Commander Ferid Berisha, who was a member of the 111 “Adam Jashari”, calls on all fellow fighters to write and verify what they experienced more than two decades ago.
