The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has decided that in the second round of elections, the commissioners, who have not shown accountability in local elections held on October 17th, are not engaged.
This was discussed in advance at today's CEC meeting.
Kosovo Democratic Party member(PDK) in the CEC, Arian Elshani, has demanded that commissioners and leaders who on Election Day have not been attentive or part of organised schemes, not be engaged in the second round.
“We have seen as the CEC that we have requested that the decision-making councils so commissioners and leaders who have been careless on Election Day, or have been part of organised schemes, be they political subjects, municipal advisers are not engaged in the second round of elections because they hurt the CEC itself. They damage and manipulate the citizen's vote, but they also produce non-legal mayor or municipal councilors”, Elshani said.
This has been agreed with by Vetevendosje Movement member (LVV) Sami Kurteshi, who said this demand was made first by the CEC itself.
“Those commissioners who have forwarded such a vote with such shortcomings were no longer the commissioner. We've made this invitation like the CEC from the beginning, yet they haven't taken it seriously because they're thinking it would go as it went ahead. Let's get them out of here, because I got my cousin there, he'll give it to me just like that. There are people who don't know how to sign in the CNR, there are political party commissioners who don't even sign what they sign, Kurteshi said.
After this discussion, the CEC has decided on the removal of all commissioners, where after the investigation and recounting of the CNR, the gap has been found in more than 1 votes to political subjects and in more than 3 votes to municipal council candidates. This he has made known through a Facebook text, Arian Elshani.
