In this case, CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has said he expects the count of diaspora, those on bail and mail votes to be completed within two or three days. After the count ends, the final outcome of the elections will be announced.
We are now left without the election results for mayors, for those 21 municipalities.
To announce the final result, the number of votes by mail and persons with special needs and conditional votes must be made. Counting these votes will take place within two to three days as soon as the previous legal procedures are completed and then we will be ready to announce final results”, he has said.
Elez has stated that within several hours they believe the number of diaspora ballots will be closed.
“For the election of the second round for mayors, which were held in 21 municipalities, there have been voting processes from outside Kosovo and during the voting period from outside Kosovo, and during the period of voting from October 29th to November 12th, we have accepted a thousand and 571 alleged ballot packages, and from the evaluation process has emerged that there have been a total of 2 thousand and 658 individualised envelopes with ballots, and from this evaluation process, then two thousand and 379 individualised envelopes have already been approved because the 279 cases have not been met.
We believe that in a few hours the number of these ballot papers will be closed and the results will appear on the sign at the QNR and will be made known to the public”, he added.
