Radev ran on promise of fighting corruption in the European Union member state.
In the first round of presidential elections, he received 49 per cent of the vote, while Gerdzhikov had managed to get 23 per cent.
Bulgarians also voted on November 14th for the election of the new parliament, which was highly regarded because of the political crisis ruling in Bulgaria.
In these parliamentary elections, the new anti-corruption party “we continue Change” came first, followed by former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov's centre-right party GERB.
