A team of six investigators from the National Investigative Service and three Pernik District Prosecutor's Prosecutor's Office in Bulgaria will work on the preliminary procedure for the serious road accident on Struma highway with 46 deaths, chief prosecutor Siika Mileva's spokeswoman told BTV.
Bulgaria's chief prosecutor will send a prosecutor and an investigator to Skopje, who will submit the request for legal assistance to the North Macedonian Prosecutor. In the function of speed and efficiency, the team sent will personally receive requested documents.
For the identification of the dead, the Bulgarian team will receive DNA from family members of the deceased to be compared to the victims' DNA profiles, respectively, to identify as soon as possible.
In office of the international element of the case, the International Department prosecutors near the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor provided full assistance and co-ordination in terms of submitting the request for legal assistance. Shortest possible deadlines have been set to hand over requested documents.
