Some features of yesterday's election
Yesterday, most of Kosovo's citizens expressed distrust of a model of governance in the claim that, from the Centre, to move even down to municipalities. By their vote, the frequent despite party alignments, they built barrier for the populist spirit not to extend further to the base. The populist concept, 20 years ago, has destroyed this country, is in the most convincing way.
The biggest winner even this time was democracy in Kosovo, built with great effort, perspiration and hard-to-know hard work. Firm evidence of this is organising elections for the same time as higher democratic standards. Proud that for this capital achievement of our country, especially in our last decenyne, The PDK is still more meritive, of course even with subjects and many other institutions.
The PDK is the biggest winner in the country in these elections with nine municipalities, some of which are the biggest and most important in many aspects of Kosovo. Not Just for The PDK is a vital and very encouraging initiative to continue the process started for change.
In this municipal election, for The PDK has been the smartest and most pragmatic decision, decentralisation of the municipal elections that has reduced PDK branches to municipalities and determined the election of best candidates for the race. This has been the centre's most important decision -- that is, of the new PDK leadership, and especially of Chairman Memli Krasniqi.
The PDK candidate selection has become very constructive. The PDK, not as a centre or as a branch, has never come under pressure from accusations, blackmail and VV degradation and others at its address and its candidates to make different choices. It has done so under the current and real assessment of each candidate's performance and the respect these candidates enjoyed from the citizens of the respective municipalities. If the outcome were otherwise, it would not be the result PDK.
Drenas was the most sensitive and contradictory part of this election. However, the problem there also took on complicated dimensions because Drenas is not only a municipality, but it is also a strategic part of the PDK's identity that was affected by inherited differences. The decision, however, is very courageous of Mr. Chairman of PDK. Krasniqi to solve this problem as she chose it, Mr. Krasniqi took a major step forward to be not only the chairman but also the leader of this party.
- Totaj with victory in Prizren testifies that his political option as the PDK built in the opposition is now better, more pragmatic and more convincing than the ruling thinking offered in practice now the years of the VV. Totaj i The PDK in Prizren exposed the practice built with good words implemented with bad work.
The worst would be, the self-fulfillment of victory in the PDK to decompose the inevitable need for continued changes. The worst would also be for the PDK now to think, to believe that it has suffered losses and has turned out in opposition, not because of its mistakes yesterday, but because of the current VV and other parties against it. Finding balance and truth in this segment is the most pragmatic push to continue the changes.
In the general outcome of the elections, not only indirectly have other things, which have nothing to do with the nature of the jobs in municipalities, but are politics, access and practices of current governance at the country's central level. Some of them are, however, poor management of pandemics, rising prices of basic food items, many millions of euros to pay the Serb power in the north, bypassing arrogance and policymaking in relation to the opposition, and however not at the Summit for Democracy and the US dispute over gas in the Balkans, etc.
