The causes of the incident remain unclear, but it is believed the attack may be linked to city gangs.
Based on witnesses, gun shooting has come from a car suspected of several people.
According to the Police Department, the incident did not occur within the school but only north of Nome Park.
Police first posted on Twitter that high school was closed, but later said it was in a safe perimeter.
