On Thursday, Taliban security forces were brought to the provincial hospital in Balkh by the bodies of two unidentified women who had been shot to death. They were found near the bodies of two men in a house in Mazar-i-Sharif, said Zaabidullah Noorani, director of information and cultural affairs of the Taliban in the province of Balkh. He suggested that the persons may have been victims of a “personal enemy”, but police are investigating the case.
Since August, Afghan women have regularly held protests to seek protection of their rights. Girls have been banned from middle schooling, the new government consists of only men and women being banned most sports and jobs.
