About 200 thousand euros have been spent on purchasing equipment for the renovation of this operating hall, but another year after the work was completed, the hall has remained out of place.
Since the hall has not been functional, plastic surgery is performed in other QKUK clinics.
The director's U.D. at the Plastic Surgery Clinic, Violeta Zatriqi, said that the hall does not meet the operating conditions.
The subx0> overall is impossible to fix because it is off-limited, the ceiling is below the right level, the light cannot be raised, it should be at the right level and not be above the head of the operator”, Zatriqi told REL.
The works were performed when the director of the Plastic Surgery Clinic was Zeynep Bouya.
He has refused to explain the state of this hall.
I don't have time and I'm not interested in interviews”, he says.
The walls of this hall have begun to collect molds, and the sink that was dedicated to use by doctors has begun to rust and from high floors flows water.
The location where operations should be performed has access to corridors where patients and family members move, which, according to doctors, increases the risk of infection.
Diana Metushi from the Kosovo Democratic Institute says many investments in Kosovo are made without preliminary planning.
We're investing, even though it's a good promise, or why we need it as a good investment and then we result in a failed investment, which neither enjoys the citizen nor the professional staff that exploits it, and we've lost the money that maybe we could invest something with essential, that's the block of money, or that's the free investment that's over<18x1>, she said.
Besim Kodra from the Association of Patients' Rights in Kosovo says there have been other unusable investments in KKUK in recent years.
We've had many cases where it's invested in various health sectors, whether in hospitals or in ambulances, and there's devices that remain there, in the stores of institutions and are not exploited. One is the area mentioned by you, which is not being exploited and patients are forced to take health services to outside public institutions”, Kodra said.
QKUK officials have provided no information as to what will be done with the Plastic Surgery Hall.
Until then, patients who need skin intervention should be directed to private hospitals or abroad, because more than five operations per day can be performed in the acts of acts offering QKU.
