Over the years the number of homicides has been rising, but in recent years one trend of increase in such cases writes news.
Kosovo police have released data about homicide statistics from 2016 to August 2021.
Based on KP data, in 2016 there were 30 cases of homicides, 16 of them named as “Death”
In 2017, 24 murders were recorded, and 12 of them were named as the Dead Murder.
The year, with the most cases of recorded murder, is 2018, a total of 34 murders were recorded this year, 12 of them were serious murders, the news reported.
Twenty murders were committed during 2019, 12 of those serious murders.
The increase in homicides rose in 2020, this pandemic year. A total of 27 murders were committed this year, where 15 of them were named “Vunda”.
Meanwhile, between January and August 2021, 19 murders have been registered, 12 of them described as serious killings.
