Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, after meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, stated that his state wants the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia to have compromises, not to be imposed on the Serbian side.
“Russia wants the Kosovo issue resolved only by compromise, and not by imposing dictatorships on Serbia”, Vuciq was quoted as saying by Serbian media.
Vuciq says he openly supports it and is proud that Serbia has good relations in all fields with Russia.
I'm proud to say we have extremely good relations with Russia. Unlike others who are ashamed or afraid to say that, I do not hide”, the Serbian leader has added further.
Lavrov, meanwhile, has said Russia has not changed its stance over Kosovo's citizenship.
He has further stressed that for Moscow any solution would be acceptable in relation to Kosovo, which would suit Serbs.
“We felt provoked by organised actions in northern Kosovo at the end of September. Serbia and President Vuciq showed restraint and contributed to resolving the” crisis, Lavrov has said.
