According to foreign media, many Twitter users mocked the company's new name, which was announced by founder Mark Zuckerberg this week, using hashtag #FacebookDead. “Somebody didn't do their search for”, said in a post.
Niri Weiss-Blat, author of The Techlach and Tech Crisis Communications, wrote on Twitter that the word "Metaʹ in Hebrew means “dead”, until it says that the Jewish “community will be ridiculed at this name for years to come”.
Serious mistake? Facebook's new name, Meta, means dead in Hebrew. Very funny”, another user wrote on Twitter.
