Twitter had blocked Trump's account because of the January month riots at the U.S. Congress.
The permanent ban on Trump by Twitter had prompted debate by supporters, but also opponents of this move, who said such a decision disseminates the power of American technology companies in the country's public debate.
In their request submitted to the US federal court in Florida, Trump lawyers said the Twitter decision was “dued to” by Congress lawmakers.
“Twitter exercises a degree of power and control over political debate in this country”, Trump lawyers said in the file.
In that world, Twitter's decision was followed by other technology companies.
On January 6th, Trump supporters clashed with police and then entered the U.S. Congress building, damaging parts of it and threatening lawmakers.
The attack came as Congress was holding a meeting to prove Joe Biden's victory in the presidential election, held two months earlier.
Hours before the attack, Trump addressed a large crowd of his supporters calling for “to fight like hell”.
He didn't call in an emergency to attack Congress.
Trump was later charged by the Chamber of Representatives controlled by the Democrats for inciting violence. The Senate controlled by the Republicans declared him innocent.
Before the account was blocked, Trump had more than 88 million followers on Twitter.
