In a media communiqué, NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu has said they welcome the agreement between the two sides, while adding that KFOR will play a key role in its implementation.
NATO-led KFOR's “Mission will play a key role in ensuring effective implementation of the agreement, in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 that mandates KFOR to ensure a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities living in Kosovo”, is said in the communique, the Klankosovatv broadcast.
In addition, this communiqué says NATO continues to support Kosovo's dialogue, Serbia facilitated by the European Union and other efforts aimed at normalising relations between the two countries.
We remember that in the agreement reached today, the Kosovo Special Police Unit forces deployed at points 1 and 31 will leave along with barricades imposed by Serbs on the streets leading to Jarinje and Brnjak.
