SPS bomber says he is not involved in the act of arresting former OVL-KLA officials

The Witness of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS), Zdenka Pumper, who is being heard in the trial of former heads of the KLA War Veterans' Organisation, said she has headed the control operation on 25 September 2020 but is not involved in the actions of Hysni Gucatit and Nasim Haradinaj's arrest. On the sixth day [...]

Pumper has said her involvement in O case control VL- The KLA started on September 25th.

Responding to Haradinaj's lawyer, Toby Cadman, the SPS investigator has said she speculates she was in Kosovo at the time she received instructions on the matter.

Lawyer Cadman: So you were in Kosovo on 22 September, right?

Pumper: I like to guess, I'm not sure where I was that day.

Cadman: You were in Kosovo on the 22nd because Mr Haradinaj in the company of three KFOR officers, saw you in Pristina that day, correct?

That question has been rejected by prosecutor Valeria Bolic, since according to her, there is no evidence that Haradinaj has seen investigator Pumper in Kosovo.

While in questions about who had general responsibility regarding the investigation into the field, the hearing has continued closed to the public, adding questions here about a person with whom Pumper says to have shared a job office in this session to refer to the person Xcom.

Regarding this person, Pumper has said that in that period of time they shared the same office but that they had separate working tables, adding that he is unaware that the same one has ever traveled to Kosovo.

Lawyer Cadman: Do you have a system in which information or exchange are regularly made about things that are important at the moment for the office?

Witness Pumper: We have weekly meetings every Friday, and we have meetings, we have teams that are assigned projects, they meet regularly, I generally have to say we have a fixed communication line inside the office.

Lawyer Cadman: So if something important happens, an important issue arises, would there be a forum through which this issue of the entire SPS staff was communicated?

We know that the events surrounding this issue, if we will accept the prosecution case, presented an important, disturbing issue to the SPS from September 7th, right?

Witness Pumper: Yeah, it was a disturbing issue..

Lawyer Cadman: When did you know about this?

Witness Pumper: I guess I said it before, I don't remember when I was aware of this case, but I was informed of it and it was a matter of concern and we talked about it.

Lawyer Cadman: Of course, as a senior office official, about 7 or 8 September, you should have been informed about it, right?

Witness Pumper: I don't want to speculate, I know I've been informed, but I don't know when I was informed.

In the following days during her testimony to The Hague, Pumper had said that his instructions on the matter had been taken orally by prosecutor Valeria Bolic, while today added that he has received e-mail from Bocic and another e-mail with information about the files.

I received an e-mail saying to me files where such communications were found and on the basis of which I had to write paragraphs I believe 32 to 34 of my statement. This file was consolidated and it was easier for me to examine it, there were no guidelines related to it”, witness Pumper said.

And the lawyer Cadman read her transcript given days before the court.

You say the opposite, you say there was no written instructions, that the instructions you received from Mrs. Bolic were orally given”, Haradinaj's lawyer said.

And the witness did not agree with it.

I can't remember saying there was no written instructions, I guess I said there were oral instructions, I want to confirm that I remember getting some e-mails in writing, and that's the verbal process of my testimony”, the witness said.

On the other hand, the lawyer has asked the SPS investigator about how the case of the flow of documents sent to OVL has been communicated. KLA.

Witness Pumper: At some point a meeting was held by the chief prosecutor, but the specialised procurement has made an announcement on that. I don't remember.

Lawyer Cadman: So there was an office level meeting when you were informed about this data leak?

Witness Pumper: I don't remember that, I don't remember if there was an announcement in the office, but I remember that I got a surprise after a while of data leak.

Lawyer Cadman: Was it about the entire office you were informed about, or was it about a small team?

Witness Pumper: The whole office.

Cadman Avocacy: What further steps follow were taken after this announcement. Have other subsequent measures been taken within the institution as a result of the leak?

Witness Pumper: As I said, I don't remember the specialised prosecutor reporting the data leak. But what I remember is that a change became a assumption of the security protocol procedure immediately after this incident happened.

ZPS bomber who is the first witness in the trial against former OVL leaders- UCK, has said it has been involved in interviewing three journalists, meanwhile, has stressed that it has not talked to any Kosovo Police member.

She has reiterated that the general responsibility of providing information was to the specialised prosecutor and his deputy, where they, according to her, gave duties to other employees for conducting investigative steps.

Pumper said he didn't get involved in the investigation on how the information came in.

At this session, Pumper has confirmed that he has worked investigators for several years in Austrian police and has also served on various United Nations missions and a European Union mission.

She has denied working on independent investigative consultants, stressing that the Special Investigative Task Force has been working for 5 months, while by 2016 it has started working at the Specialised Procuron Office.

Detective Zdenka Pumper is the SPS's first witness in the trial of Haradinaj's Guncat in Specialised Chambers in The Hague.

Former OVL heads- KLA, Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj are charged with criminal acts against justice administration, namely obstructing official persons in performing official duties, fearing witnesses, revenge and violating the secret of the procedure.

In the organization they were running, there were several packages allegedly containing documents derived from the Special Prosecutor's Office. All of this they had made public through media conferences and other public presentations.

They have been arrested on 25 September 2020 in Pristina since they were even held at The Hague detention centre.
