Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti will attend this year's summit. Last year it was kept on videoconference due to pandemic. The last time he had physical meetings was 2018, where Spain refused to participate because of Kosovo.

There is not expected to be any flag or symbol of any state that are usually part of the table.
Besides Spain, there are four other European Union states that recognise Kosovo: Greece, Romania, Cyprus and Slovakia. EU leaders gather in Brdo with leaders of the Western Balkan states: Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
