Shala's Gruda pleads innocent for stealing over 2m euros from the State Treasury

In this case, the two indictees are charged with causing damage to the Kosovo Republic's budget, worth 2m 77 thousand and 995 euros and 90 cents, reports “Justice Vow“.

After reading the indictment by prosecutor Valdet Gashi, the accused have pleaded not guilty to the criminal acts they are being charged with.

While accused Shala has added that he will let the possibility of declaring guilt be declared in other phases.

“If possible, in terms of guilt to declare myself in other phases”, the accused said.

Since the accused have not pleaded guilty, the court judge, Arben Hoti, has informed them that within the 30-day term, they have the right to file a request to drop the charge and object to evidence.

Also, at this session, Judge Hoti has rejected the defender Shala's proposal, lawyer Osman Hoxha, to protect him, to stop the detention measure, and the house arrest measure is appointed.

Otherwise, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), on October 12th, 2021, has filed an indictment at the Special Department of the Foundation Court in Pristina against defendants Labinot Gruda and Kadri Shala.

In the indictment, Gruda is reportedly charged with criminal acts “Use of official position or authority”, “accessing computer systems”, “Identification and access device” and “The release of the money” regarding Article 56 of the Law for the Prevention of Money Evacuation and the financing of terrorism, in co-ordination with defendant Shala.

Meanwhile, Shala reportedly is charged with criminal acts “The release of the money” regarding Article 56 of the Law for Prevention of Money and Terrorism Financing, in interaction with defendant Gruda, and “Assistant”, in liaison with criminal work “

According to the SPRK, as a consequence of the incriminating actions of defendants Labinot Grusa and Kadri Shala budget of the Republic of Kosovo, has been caused damage of 2m and 77 thousand and 995 euros and 90 cents.

“In this regard, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has demanded the seizure of four (4) cars, which are the result of this criminal activity, the amount of money which has been frozen at the court's order, as well as of the defendants to make compensation for the loss or damage caused by the Republic of Kosovo budget, until the value of damage caused by criminal acts, or otherwise, the court has to seize any properties of the defendants until the full compensation of damage caused by the Kosovo Republic of Kosovo budget was said in the SP.<8th municipality. /Betimy for Justice
