The deadline has already begun for removing Kosovo Special Unit barricades and policemen from the roads leading to the Brnjak Jarinje border points.
Under the Brussels agreement, their departure is expected to take place no further than at 4: 00 p.m.
At the border points, KFOR has begun deploying, which have been seen exchanging words with Kosovo police officers.
Otherwise, today two border checkpoints -- Jarinje and Brnjak -- are expected to end, connecting Kosovo and Serbia.
These two border points are standing blocked by September 20th. On that day, the Kosovo government decided to implement reciprocity measures on license plates registered in Serbia.
Under the decision, Serbia's census vehicles should remove these plates at the entrance of Kosovo, and receive temporary license plates during the movement in Kosovo.
That move, Serbia implements the registered cars of the Republic of Kosovo now and for many years.
But the delegations of these two countries, with European Union mediation, have reached compliance on September 30th on the issue of plates and the unblocking of the north.
The European Union's Special Representative for the Kosovo Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has made public the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, reached in Brussels, after the blockade at the border points in Jarinje and Brnjak.
Both sides have agreed to the following points:
1. Special police units, currently located at the Jarinje and Brnjak border points, will leave with roadblocks on the road, starting from October 2nd, 2021 at 8:00, until not later than 4:00. KFOR will be located at the border points in Jarinje and Brnjak, before the start of leaving the blockades and staying on average two weeks to provide safe environment and freedom of movement.
2. On October 4th, at 8: 00 p.m., it will begin setting up stickers, according to the agreement on the EU-brokered dialogue frames, until a permanent solution is reached.
3. A task force consisting of EU representatives, Pristina and Belgrade's sides and EU-led group will be established to find a permanent solution to vehicle license plates based on EU practices and standards. The first meeting of the Workers Group will be held on 21 October 2021 in Brussels. Six months after the first meeting, the Workers' Group will present the high format of its dialogue for a permanent solution.
