Salih Mustafa trial at The Hague continues tomorrow

Salih Mustafa, known in war as “Commander Cali” is the first arrested by the Special and this is the first trial in Specialised Chambers.
The Act against Mustafa was confirmed on June 12, 2020, as he was arrested on September 24th last year, with the claim of war crimes and humanity, and sent to the detention facility in The Hague.
Mustafa's first appearance session was held on September 28, 2020, in front of preliminary judges Nikola Giyu. In his further presentation, on October 28, 2020, Mustafa was acquitted of all points of the indictment.
The sides handed their latest versions of the preliminary files as confidential, on February 22, 2021, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office and May 6, 2021 defence.
On April 30th 2021, the judge of the preliminary procedure approved the demands of five victims and accepted them as the participating victims in the judicial process, Group I. On May 7, 2021, the court judge passed the case file I.
On May 21, 2021, the court approved the demands of four other victims and admitted them as participating victims in procedures as part of Group 1. The court also extended the deadline for victims to apply until the specialised Prosecutor's case was closed.
The preparation conferences for the trial in the case were held on June 9th and 10th, 2021.
The trial began on September 15, 2021, with the opening statements of the Specialised Prosecutor and the representative of the victims.
