Through a Facebook post, Rukiqi has said there are no easy solutions, nor many choices on the issue of electricity supply and electricity costs.
“In the long term plan, Kosovo must have resolved the issue of security of electricity supply. 100% Wasen (green) is impossible, for technical and cost reasons. Every country in the world is operating and will have it functioning, for a certain time, at least one conventional energy source (gas, nuclear, coal)”, he writes.
On the other hand, Rukiqi says that “in the medium-term, massive investment in efficiency is needed (insolving objects, heating systems, etc) and in energy sources that can be used for self-consummation (culatures with solar panels, biomas, etc), especially in the business category”.
The short-term “needs to be used fiscal and financial instruments to absorb the inevitable increase in the electricity price”.
According to him, the focus of support from these instruments should be social categories, micro and small businesses, as well as production businesses.
“For production businesses must be analysed the possibility of implementing <x1 industrial utility”, which enables the preservation of the competitiveness of these businesses in the local market and the international market”, he says.
