MD for EC Report: Save option most appropriate to respond to justice problems

Deputy Justice Minister Nita Shala said this minister shares the same opinion with the European Commission Report, where it says the full and simultaneous re-evaluation of all prosecutors and judges poses serious concern. As Shala says, the justice ministry did not presumption that the vetting process would be the same. “Practically [...]
As Shala says, the justice ministry did not presumption that the vetting process would be the same.
So if we look at the concept-document, you'll see that there are in detail possible options that can be followed. It is considered by the working group's side as the right solution to the self-defence company. Practically the report stresses that there are serious concerns about a single veto, we share the same opinion. Even for us, it would be disturbing if we thought about a once-in-a-life veto and quit. What is recommended in the concept-document that has been adopted in Government is to follow up with the process of verifying the wealth, integrity and performance of all judges and prosecutors, and then to create permanent mechanisms that will carry out such a verification at the following time, in the years of the next to say”, Shala has declared for Economy Online.
Deputy Minister Shala says the Progress Report has enumerated the continuing problems facing the justice system in Kosovo.
The Progress Report has actually presented a view of the situation in Kosovo, as we look at the Progress Report regarding the judiciary, and it reveals continued problems, problems that it has recorded in previous years. It also states that the judiciary is in very early stages of development, towards a functional judiciary, on the other hand, indicating that justice management is slow, influenced by politics, and inefficient. Practically with these findings, we agree very much, Shala has declared.
The report actually expresses some of the concerns that we share as justice minister, so we're working on giving a solution to these problems that we face as society”.
According to her, vetoing is the most appropriate form to respond to the reality facing the judicial and prosecutorial process in the country.
And as it is highlighted in other reports, we have a judiciary that flows into many points, that should be fair and not fair, while years and years have not been resolved. Actually mechanisms that are currently to ensure that we have a fair judiciary are testifying to non-functionalism, and therefore the appropriate option to respond to the reality that we face remains the process of vetoing”, Shala said.
Therefore, Shala says they don't have time to lose, as reforms in justice are more than necessary.
The next step will be very difficult. The processing group is towards finalization, and we don't have time to lose”, she said.
