The reason for poisoning in Decan, what happened to the investigation?

He has faced health problems for several days.
Since then, Shkmbini says he doesn't know what the real reason he had for seeking medical treatment was.
The explanations the institutions have provided, including the Decani municipality, the Kosovo Institute for Public Health, as well as the Ministry of Health, are not convincing and sufficient for it.
The last time we were informed was from the IKSHPK, when he said that the poisoning source was the bacteria of éscheriia Colitão, even more about this issue, we don't know anything”, says Lusaj.
Lushaj says this bacteria had only been found in one of the villages of the Decani municipality, even though according to him, citizens' poisoning has had more in other villages.
Fearing that the event can be repeated, Lushaj says that many residents do not consume the water from the water supply.
<x0Wyrlin from July we don't consume it because it's been the decision of the Decani and the KRU-Hidrodrin municipality and now we're bound or filled the water in other places, where it's the cleanest water, or we're going to buy”, says Lusaj.
Shortly after increasing the number of people seeking medical help as a result of poisoning, the Decani Community had decided that the water supply in this municipality would not be used for drink.
A few days later, after tests of water samples, it was found that the water is drinking.
However, the water in the Dranoc village's water collectors in this municipality had resulted in the presence of E bacteria. Colit and had been declared elusive by the Kosovo Institute for Public Health.
Two prosecutors are investigating the case
After increasing the number of people seeking treatment at the Main Centre of Family Medicine in Decani, doubts had been raised about deliberate water poisoning.
These claims were immediately investigated by Pec's Founding Prosecutor.
But since then, investigations have not produced any results.
Asked about the investigations, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pec has said in a reply to Radio Free Europe, that, for this case, two prosecutors continue to be engaged, who are dealing with the case investigation.
Many investigative actions have so far been taken with the author's authorization of the state prosecutor. Also, we inform you that further investigative actions are expected to be taken for the full enlightenment of this case, so we must be reserved for information, until the outcome of the investigative actions”, the Pec Foundation Prosecutor's response is said.
On July 16th of this year, at the order of Pec's Constitutional Prosecutor, a person working for the Kosovo Forest Agency was arrested in Decani.
He had been arrested under suspicion that he had stopped security cameras since May.
But after 48 hours of maintenance, he was released in regular procedure.
For allegations of poisoning, the prosecution has interviewed other people.
Improvations Instead of Security
Veton Mujaj, who heads the non-governmental organisation “Vision Eye”, says institutions have failed to provide a clear answer to what had happened to the victims of citizen poisoning in Decani.
Mujaj says that citizens have the right to feel at risk that the same can happen again.
Our institutions really have the same responsibility to give a clarity about what really happened. It's not rare when we talk to people and worry about how they never came back to that point”, Mujaj says.
In July, when poisonings occurred, the Regional Company Hidrodroni é (K.R.U.R. Hidrodrin) and municipal bodies took steps to secure the water supply network at Decani.
As part of increasing security measures, wells and pipes were closed that were open.
In the rise in water safety by Mujaj, these measures are minimal.
I've noticed that in some places where the lids were open in those water zones tried to react to Hidrodrin. In a sense, it has equally increased the care of the responsible institution - in this case, Hidrodrin - to care for areas where these wells are open and where interventions can occur. However, it has not become much bigger. What remains of concern is why it was never said equally true what happened”, Mujaj says.
On July 14th of this year, Health Minister Arben Vitita had announced that some samples would be sent abroad to conduct additional tests.
A number of samples are also being prepared today, which are soon expected to be sent abroad for more specific analysis, which cannot be conducted in Kosovo”, Vitita had said.
Radio Free Europe has tried this week to receive an answer from the Health Ministry about what happened to these samples and whether this institution has accepted answers.
Despite REL's interest, Health Ministry officials have not responded.
For undertaking measures to increase the security and quality of water in Decan, REL has also contacted the mayor of this municipality, Bashkim Ramosaj, who in a brief reply, has said that analyses sent abroad are expected to be published very soon.
REL has also tried to speak to the directors of the C.R.U. Hydrodrin, but officials of this institution have not responded to the REL's interest.
Decani has initiated secession from “K. R.U. Hidrodron”
In the first days following the appearance of health problems of more than 1,500 citizens, the Decani Municipal Assembly had initiated the procedure for establishing a new municipal enterprise.
The goal was to cut Decani's water supply from the regional company K.R.U. Hydrodrin, as this company was accused of poor and irresponsible management of the water supply network in this municipality.
This decision is due to mismanagement of the water pipeline network in the Decani municipality from “K.R.U., which has to do with technical construction aspects from access to source, non-standard water reservoirs, water wells, water grids to illegal wrists and the lack of clocks for registration of water spending”, is said in the decision of July 19, 2021, of the Decani Municipal Framework.
According to this decision, all these shortcomings had resulted in damage to the quality of water, which has created the situation of infection and water poisoning in the Decani municipality of over two thousand citizens.
And besides Decani, it supplies Peja, Istog, Kline, and Junic.
