Police figures show: Crime has been fought more in years past this year

However, figures show that even when Kurti was not in power, Kosovo Police (PK) had fought criminal groups and carried out even bigger shares showing even greater successes in the last two years than this year.
Based on police statistics, 34 criminal groups were hit this year, a year earlier 28, until 37 criminal groups were hit in 2019, reports “Justice Trust”.
Thus, the fight against criminal groups has not increased greatly since Prime Minister Kurti's arrival at the head of government.
The success of the Kosovo Police has been greater in sequencing heroin in the years 2019 and 2020 than this year. Two years ago, nearly 50 pounds [8 kg] of heroin were seized last year, up to nine pounds [9.8 kg] until this year alone.
In cocaine sequencing, the year 2021 is more successful for the Kosovo Police, having seized 412 kilos, while a year ago only 2.6 kg and in 2019 only 1.5 kg.
Even in marijuana sequencing, 2019 has been more successful compared to 2020 and 2021. Two years ago, 184 pounds [824 kg] have been seized, last year 256 pounds [256 kg], and this year only 215 pounds [291 kg] have been seized.
Even in the selection of cannabis plants, 2019 was more successful for the Kosovo Police than in 2020 and 2021. Cannabis plants in 2019 have been seized 6 thousand and 810, until a year later 5 thousand and 622. This year, however, only 1,000 and 470 cannabis plants have been seized.
Even in weapons sequencing, 2019 leads to police results. Two years ago, 212 weapons were seized, last year 98, until only 58 weapons were seized this year.
In the balance of money, Kosovo police this year have shown more success than in the two years ahead. So this year it has seized 3.8m euros, last year over half a million, until it was seized in 2019.
Kosovo police have mostly confiscated francs this year, compared to the two previous years.
This year it seized 5.8 million francs, last year 4.2 million, until in 2019 only 1.2 million francs.
