In a 60 square metre apartment in Prizren, she lives with her 20-year-old daughter, Andrin.
The only income they have is from social aid worth 100 euros.
For drugs, I spend over 30 euros a month, plus the next trip to Pristina for checkups. I also live with the help my relatives provide”, she says.
Mrs. Pasul has been working at an international school in Kosovo for several years before diagnosing cancer. For surgery in a private hospital, she had been helped financially by the school she worked as a cook with a monthly salary of 200 euros a month.
But after her recovery, it shows, she was no longer able to return to her workplace.
The institution where she worked had not returned her work, but for three years she had been offered a monthly aid of 150 euros.
Radio Free Europe has contacted private school directors on this issue, but they have said that Mrs. Pasul can compete in this institution if opportunities are opened.
But Mrs. Pasul's experience of finding work so far has not been successful. The applications have not resulted in even an interview invitation.
I've been looking for work, but nobody's accepting me. Even when they realize I'm sick of cancer... this cancer is not contagious. I'm full of life, but life has knocked me down a little”, she says.
Besarta Fazliu, psychotherapue, said that the first and the first thing about being, according to her, is for society to open up and give them the opportunity to integrate into society.
Everyone should have a mobilization, all actors, family, society and institutions so that they can be given the necessary space to return to normal life. This is the duty of being driven to reactivate the social residence to restore a person from a fatal situation”, she says.
Fazliu says that failing to work or engage in any activity for people who are or have been affected by cancer has made them feel inadequate.
He or she, if there's no way to engage, gets hurt in a psychic way and his life gets harder. They may trigger other conflicts that would undermine the life balance”, she explains.
Nafije Latifi, founder of the association “jeta Vita”, the association that helps women affected with breast cancer, says women in this category must engage in various jobs and activities, exchanging various experiences.
It was an organized society, of course something happened, but it's not. We have problems of both diagnostics and treatment, and intelligence with drugs both with staff and with many problems”, she points out.
The organisation “Life Vita” that deals with women's protection and support is helping women with various activities in a psycho-social and moral way.
In contrast, some 200,000 oncological medical services for cancer - affected patients have been offered in the Clinic of Oncology, from January to the first part of September 2021.
Over this period, 1,100 new cancer cases have been diagnosed. More than 300 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. / REL/
